George Malavasic is a Chef Demonstrator/Admissions Officer at Johnson & Wales University and a culinary chef with over 25 years of industry experience. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales, and has worked in casual American Style dining, fine dining, high volume events, and food styling for HBO and Showtime. While still active in the restaurant industry and a member of the National Restaurant Association, his passion is for helping aspiring chefs begin their education in culinary arts. He is an avid brewer, vintner and practitioner of various pre-industrial food preservation techniques. When not at work, he can be found making a batch of kimchi, brewing a sparkling mead or fermenting a fresh batch of yogurt cheese.
