Chef Candy Murphy is new to the food industry, but not new to developing great flavors.
Chef Murphy spent 20+ years in the high tech industry, and then decided to follow her passion for food and entertaining. She attended Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, graduating with honors and won the Julia Child award. She launched a pop-up restaurant on Cape Cod, and then turned her sights on opening a café in Worcester. Chef Murphy spent time teaching culinary classes at CSCA, while also pursuing her dream of opening a location in downtown Worcester. In 2015, she realized her dream by being selected to operate the incubator space attached to the DCU Center. Figs & Pigs has won multiple awards, and Chef Murphy has won and placed in several cooking competitions, including San Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef in 2012, 1st Place in Fork It Over 2016, and 2nd place in Fork It Over 2017.
