Chef Albert Maykel- Bootleggers Prohibtion Pub 1.jpgTaking top honors in this event in 2013 with a seared lamb, fruit and nut quinoa and berry rosemary reduction, Chef Albert Maykel III won over the judges with his dish’s complexity and "layers of flavor”. This year, he returns compete again, showcasing his newest restaurant concept, Bootleggers Prohibition Pub.

Chef Maykel found his passion and talent for cooking in his parent’s kitchen and, as owners of the Living Earth market; he was raised in a family immersed in the foodie’s world long before most.

After attending Johnson & Wales Culinary School, he would heat up several of the area’s fine dining kitchens, before creating award winning dining of his own as Co-Owner and Executive Chef of EVO Dining.

Maykel is a three-time People's Choice Award winner at Worcester's Best Chef competition including the Judges' Choice Award and Iron Chef Champion in 2013. He later served on the panel of judges, enjoying being a part of this event each year. Both he and his restaurants have been consistently recognized by various publications as Best Chef and Best Restaurant and Place to Be Seen.
