Chef Joshua Swerling is a New England native, and has been in the industry for just shy of ten years, spending most of his career in corporate restaurants, coming to Volturno to have some fun with cooking. He started as a busboy at the 111 Chophouse, and later moved on to serve tables at Joe’s American bar and Grill, moving to back of the house in 2011, as well as worked at various restaurants including Skybokx 109, O’Conner’s, and Bushel and Peck. He was promoted to sous chef of Joe’s American B&G in 2014, joined the Volturno’s team in spring 2017, and promoted to Executive Chef of Volturno's in Framingham February 2018. He is grateful for mentors like first chef Rick Brown and Joe Rice for the opportunity to work with the Volturno family, Kenny Smith for keeping the passion alive, and Greg Califano for always pushing him to succeed.
